Therapy

The perinatal period (pre-conception through one year postpartum) can have a significant impact on our emotional wellbeing, and for many, the impact on our mental health can extend well beyond just one year after childbirth.

Many mental health issues become more common during the perinatal period due to the unique challenges we face during this time.

Navigating changes to our bodies, brains, relationships, responsibilities, identity, and more is no small task, and the amount of support we have often plays a key role in our experience of this transition. You deserve to get the support you need.

Whether you’re seeking new ways to manage stress, practical solutions to current challenges, or a deeper healing and reconnection with yourself, we can work together to create the change you want to see.

Treatment Approach

My approach to therapy is centered around offering a safe, warm, nonjudgmental space for individuals of all backgrounds. I use a non-pathologizing approach, which means I see mental health symptoms as important signals that we may have unmet needs or that something in our lives needs to change - not that something is wrong with us.

I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and elements of nonviolent communication in my work. My approach is influenced by attachment theory and trauma-informed care. My clients’ unique preferences and needs are important to me and I tailor my approach to each individual I work with.
