Therapy for pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood
Offering virtual therapy across the state of Michigan and in-person services in Ann Arbor, Michigan
If this is more difficult than you expected, you’re not alone
About 1 in 5 mothers experience anxiety or depression and 1 in 10 fathers experience postpartum depression, making perinatal mood and anxiety disorders the most common complication of childbearing. However, this isn’t typically what we see in movies, on social media, or what we expect for ourselves.
Many parents struggle with feelings of overwhelm, isolation, anxiety and frustration at some point throughout the process of welcoming a child. There are many aspects of the perinatal period that our society does not tend to openly discuss, leaving us surprised when our reality does not match our expectations. We can be left feeling as if everyone is finding more ease and enjoyment in the process than we are.
If you’re finding this time to be challenging, you’re not alone, and it does not mean you’ve done something wrong, that you’re ungrateful, or that you’re unfit to be a parent. However, it may be a sign that you need more support, and you deserve to get the help you need.
Welcome! I’m Courtney.
I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and certified perinatal mental health professional (PMH-C). I provide therapy services for adults through Haven Wellness Services, LLC, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Although I have had a long-standing interest in mental health during pregnancy and the postpartum period, my passion for it was solidified after the birth of my son in 2022 when I experienced the joys and challenges of this time firsthand.
In addition to specializing in perinatal mental health, I also work with individuals on relationship and attachment issues, life transitions, chronic stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, and more. I support gender self-determination and my practice is inclusive and welcoming of everyone.

Whether you’re seeking therapy for the first time or are already familiar with the process, it can take courage to reach out for help. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to schedule a free 15-minute call to see if we’re a good fit. If we’re not, I’m happy to help point you in the right direction to get the help you need.
